Some updates
* While chatting, Samay told me that he has started his company. I was so excited to hear this. A just passedout student in Ahmedabad can do this? I visited their place and its real Garage kind of startup. They are still setting up things but I loved their energy and ideas. Thanks Samay, Tanmay and Puja (or Pooja). However, their company’s name is ‘Entourage Solution’ and I just warned Samay that Entourage is also name of Microsoft’s product
* Updated many pending packages, specially for debian-in repository. Fontypython is waiting for some testing from user side and will upload 0.4 soon after that..

* We know that its time of election going in world’s biggest democratic country, India. Last and third phase will be on 30th. I am not sure I will go to my dear Palanpur and vote. Oh, I may go and vote! and will wait for sane result this time.
Reportbug has GUI Now!
* Sandro Tosi blogged about reportbug 4.o So, I decided to try it.

I was not able to see Desktop file for it and luckily found it inside Debian Menu (Why we need it, anyway?). It worked fine, fetched information about some bug and then I decided to go back – crash
I am investigating it further during VAC or may be Sandro already knows about it
[VAC] 26th March – 4th April
* We (3Ks) will be at Mumbai from tomorrow till 4th April.
Initially, I adjusted my vacation (& paid leaves
) along with 3rd Indic Developers Meet – but somehow it is not going to happen within this timeframe – So, I have big vacation where I have nothing to do apart from spending time with family, watching TV and reading unfinished wishlist books. I will check mails once or twice in a day, will hack something at night, will do KDE Gujarati work – but, can’t upload packages on slow connection there (or may be I can?). Feel free to do NMU – at moment, nothing seems serious in my packages (yep, speech-tools need to fix! Thank God, Kumar is there to take care
)
C ya, soon!
Debian Bug Reporting and More For Dummies
* It looks like people don’t know how and when to report bugs to Debian BTS. Following are some steps for them:
1. Fire terminal, type ‘reportbug’. Follow instructions. Use ‘reportbug-ng’ if needed! If you are not comfortable with terminal, firing a mail to ’submit@bugs.d.o’ with proper subject is fine. Look at example of any bugs. Its very easy.
2. If you are using ‘Sid’. Don’t forget to report bug when they are encounters.
3. File a bug, rather than crying about maintainer not responding and blah blah.
4. While updating system to Lenny, Keep such documents handy.
5. Ask
