Good for life but not at all good for laptop.Power management in Linux is notoriously buggy.Constant overheating may end up damaging your laptop.Watch the output of ‘acpi -v’ carefully.

At least on Amtrak, I’ve only had that problem at union stations where all the car-end doors are open all the time, and on the lower levels of superliner cars. Once the train gets going again, I reach up and slap the doorstop button so it closes and resumes normal semiautomatic operation, since the wind from the car vestibules can be quite cold at speed.
Note this problem is completely nonexistant on the Talgo cars Amtrak Cascades runs instead of Superliners or Metroliners, the whole train is one single unit and the doors between cars are mostly so you can’t hear someone’s kid screaming one end of the train to the other.

Indian Railways are different! Though, it is one the largest network in the world (also in number of passengers per year etc), it fails to provide good service. Like there is always problem with Window not shutting down properly and you are ‘cold’ due to wind blowing through your body. Similarly, in summer time, you will feel like burning hell.
A/C compartments are usually good for travel and provides better service but costs ~ 3 time more too.

What would you suggest to improve the Indain Railway Service?
I find it best all the time. You cant compare with the railway service of other countries b’coz their population is less than even Mumbai. Forget the population of India who are using these service.
Indian Railway Rocks.

Population doesn’t matter if you want to provide good service. Take money — who are denying paying for that?
I just came to know that our dear Lalu is adding third birth between side lower and side upper. God save the Indian Railway!!
