45 days…
* I was hell tired from useless promotional calls and SMS from Vodaphone from last 30 days (I got my new number on 6th March), So, I tried their Do Not Disturb form and submitted it. Also, did SMS to toll-free number. And, I got this email after one confirmation email:
“We would like to inform you that we have updated the number under DND option and the promotional SMS/calls will be stopped on your Vodafone number 9xxxxxxxxx within 45 days.”
OMG, 45 Days!!!
Not bad at all. My mobile operator still sends me junk, but I’m on a prepaid system so I guess I have to live with it.
There are worse things. My friend wanted to deactivate his voice mail (there are people that don’t use it, like me) on his prepaid and he learned that it’s impossible. However not all is lost. The voice mail is automatically deactivated if you don’t use it for 6 months. Yes, that’s half a year. In the meantime however, people still could leave him messages there. You can’t listen to them because the timer would reset. Beat *that*.
Nowadays, I am getting Nigerian Spams from Google Calendar invites too!
