Managing Ideas

with 5 comments

* What do you do for managing ideas..

- Any software?

- Sticky notes?

- Diary?

I always gets good (sometime even creative too) ideas during bath, loo or breakfast. And, from sometime, I started to maintain ‘Crazy Morning Ideas’ diary with me.

And these Google’ internal tools are also interesting..

  2. Depends what you mean by managing ideas. I usually carry around with me a very small (and disposable) notebook, but that’s really for remembering things, rather than generating/investigating new ideas.

For playing with new ideas, my favourite tool is vym (not, err obviously {?} vim). As a mind mapping app, it is not the most sophisticated thing around. On the other hand, it is fast and the last thing i want when I’m doing anything like this is anything that gets in the way.

  4. Tomboy on my Ubuntu laptop for personal ideas, etc.

For my role as manager in Innovation group we have built an inhouse Idea Management System … somewhat like Ubuntu Brainstorm, but not very much so.

  5. To strategise, I use FreeMind … but have found it useful for personal brainstorming as well as note taking. :)
