* It was really good event! We had nice dinner at Pool Side. Interaction with other speakers and students was great and everyone enjoyed it! 2nd day started with talk of Alolita Sharma’s talk on “OpenSource is hip not hype: Top trends to watch in 2007” and after that there was wonderful talk of Dr. Louis on “Managing OpenSource Project”! I liked his style and the way of talking (without slides).

* My and Ubuntu Fiesty RoadMap talk of Mattew was at same time The good thing was that only genuine interested people was there in talk and it was the best talk from side You can download the slides from here: PDF and ODP.

* LFY was given free at desk (with Ubuntu ‘edgy’ CD instead of OpenSuse 10.2!) wow! I am still waiting for payment of my last article of Sep 2006!! So, I hate LFY now! SICSR people gave speakers a nice clock (Can be use at NightLamp)

* My (and of many people here) favourite Linux magazine TUX is now going to paid subscription. Got this in my mailbox yesterday!

Dear TUX Subscriber,

This week you’ll notice a change in TUX. It will move from being a
free digital magazine to a paid one. Your current complimentary
subscription will be extended for 12 issues (expiring after the
July 2007 issue). That being said, this is just a note to let you
know what’s happening — there’s nothing at all you need to do
today. Your free subscription will continue to be delivered to you
as you had originally requested.

When your subscription does expire, we will send you a notice
offerring you an opportunity to renew at our paid rate of just
$9.95/12 issues. In addition, since you’ve been a long-time (and
apprecited!) loyal subscriber, we’ll make certain to offer you a
very special gift if you do decide to renew at that time. Again
though, there’s nothing for you to do today. Your free subscription
to TUX will continue through July 2007.

We started TUX in 2004 because we felt strongly it was a needed
publication within the Linux community (many of our Linux Journal
readers would write in asking for exactly this, and truthfully, many
of our own staff members wanted to learn more about their Linux
desktops also). We invested revenues from our other publication,
Linux Journal, to make it possible. We’ve seen it as a labor of
love. Today, however, 15 issues later, we need to turn TUX into a
self-supporting publication and that’s why we are asking for our
readers’ help.

We promise to put more heart and effort into TUX with this
conversion. In the coming months, you can expect several new topics
and article series introduced by TUX Editor Kevin Shockey.

* I bought DIGIT Magazine yesterday and was amazed to see lots of Linux stuffs inside DVD/CD and little introduction book on Linux. (They called it Fast Track). Keep it up DIGIT!

* I am worried. Why? Because, Whenever, the new issue of so called Linux Magazine in the stand, it comes with crap! You may have seen PCQLinux 2006 and the thread ‘PCQLinux 2006 Lousy’ on ILUG-BOM mailing list. LFY always shouts to be Linux magazine and always comes with ancient age distro’s updates and Live CDs that is 100% closed source! Why they simply can’t put Debian GNU/Linux, Gentoo or Slackware? God knows!

* I was finding my old article on LFY, and I came across nice article about Python on Nokia 6600, I was amazed to see that and in few minutes Python was running in my mobile! Wow..

* This is the best resource page I have ever seen. There is #pys60 channel on irc.freenode.org too! I will put some screenshot after gaining some experience on it..

* I had seesion on ‘Linux Community’ in Office.. I used s5 for that. And I was inspired to make it due to lack of AMD64 OpenOffice.org build on my machine

* I am back!

* Caught ‘Link Way’ bus to Palanpur from Malad (E) on Republic Day night. And it was my first experience to travel such a long by bus. Bus stopped at various cheap hotels where FOOD was -3 quality so, I only took ‘Pepsi and Chips’.

* At 9 am we reached at Palanpur. Grand Ma’s health was not good. We (Me and Chandreshbhai) just took tea and caught bus for Ambaji. Found a hotel near bus stand. And found a venue too! Good thing was that there was too much distance between food court and exhibition area! So, it helped me a lot!

* Got some valuable feedbacks from various school teachers and principals about both product and marketing. Seen people – how to market product in rural area and lots more. Well, I am not marketing man by heart but this exhibition was different thing

* Found a mobile in our stole! It was nice temptation for me as no one was around and I don’t have mobile! I kept it but I was feeling badly. Called my brother and finally gave mobile to organizer people. It was one of my happiest moments!

* Went to Palanpur on Sunday. Enjoyed nice scenery during traveling but missed camera So, finally nice digicam is now one step up than mobile in my private wish-list!

* Met brother and mom and some friends. Again, bus travel to Ahmadabad in next morning. At noon, I have no work to do. It was Crossword time! Got following books,
1. Idli, Orchid and I (ઈડલી, ઓર્કિડ અને હું) – V.V.Kamath
2. Animal Farm – George Orwell
3. Man ni vat (મનની વાત) – Sudha Murti
4. Selected Quotes – Navneet Pub.

Also, read ‘Linux Format’ and ‘Linux Journal’ at reading facility there (Thats why I love Crossword!).

* Finished 1st and 3rd book during today’s travel in ‘Gujarat Express’.
